Our work is not possible without your support. The Renaissance Collaborative appreciates donations in the form of monetary contributions or new or gently used professional clothing for men and women. Every dollar of your donation will go to serve the community through one of our programs, and your clothing donations can give our trainees a fresh start in the employment process.
TRC Alumni Stories
The Peace Generation Blues Band is led by Calvin Williams, a former TRC resident. Mr. Williams completed the Transitional Jobs program with Bronzeville Green which led to full-time employment with Walmart and then to CPS. He also regularly shares his gift of music as a member of Old Landmark Missionary Baptist Church on Chicago’s west side.
John Hayes, a 2007 TRC alumni, was an exemplary resident in that he always maintained that being homeless does not define who you are and always conveyed this message to other residents in our community. John is an 18 year military veteran. In 2014, John presented his scientific finding of “The Effects of Smoking in the LGBTQ Population” at the Annual Biomedical Research Conference for Minority Students in San Antonio, TX. His academic excellence is vast and he has received a number of accolades from various universities and professional organizations. John’s goal is to advance his nursing career at the doctoral level with a special interest in research. Mr. Hayes is currently a student at the University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC), pursuing a degree in nursing RN-Bachelor of Science.
