TRC’s employment programs are designed to pay particular attention to placement issues confronted by individuals when they seek to enter or re-enter the workforce, with the understanding that each individual has a different meaning of work in their life, education, and work history.
Job Training Programs
TRC provides four training programs that combine both classroom and on-the-job training to give individuals with barriers to employment the experience and knowledge necessary to secure and sustain a job with a living wage.
Customer Service
Each participant works on-the-job at the front desk of Renaissance Apartments and become certified front desk representatives. Particpants become well-versed in conflict resolution, time management, communication, technology, and general business practices.
Janitorial Services
Participants learn basic custodial duties such as proper disinfection of public spaces as well as basic plumbing, electrical, and heating/cooling maintenance. Customer service, conflict resolution, and time management are also important components of this program.
Landscaping
Participants receive training in the most up-to-date environmentally friendly landscaping practices, tool usage and safety training, and gain experience in dealing with community residents and neighborhood businesses.
Culinary
Led by a professional chef, these trainings teach food preparation basics. Participants receive their Food Service Manager Sanitation license and are connected to jobs within the culinary industry.
