Helena Hired at Same Treatment Center that Helped Her

Helena moved out of The Renaissance Apartments in February of 2020 for her own 2-bedroom apartment and is now working at the same addiction treatment center that she first turned to 5 years ago when she decided to get clean.

Helena took full advantage of the stability, support, and opportunities that TRC gave her and went back to school full-time for addiction studies. She graduated this spring and is currently studying for her CADC test to become a drug counselor. Helena says her biggest inspiration has been her mother, who is a retired drug counselor who also recovered from addiction. She believes that the best person to help someone struggling with addiction is someone else who has been through it and can speak from personal experience.

Helena is happy that God has given her all of the blessings that she has prayed for but shared that the current state of the world has made her feel like she should keep her happiness to herself. She did, however, volunteer to share her experience with us in a video interview that you can watch now:
