Year End 2025: Reflecting on our Momentum
Dear TRC Family,
As we reflect on the past year at The Renaissance Collaborative, I want to begin by wholeheartedly thanking every member of our staff. Your dedication, resilience, and unwavering belief in our mission have made all the difference. Without your commitment, none of our 2025 goals would have been possible. The successes we celebrate today are a direct reflection of your hard work and compassion, and I am deeply grateful for all you do to support our residents, our community, and one another. I also want to acknowledge the many partners, neighbors, and supporters who stand with us—your trust and collaboration strengthen every effort and remind us that this work is truly shared.
This year, we stand on a strong financial foundation. Through thoughtful planning and disciplined stewardship, we anticipate ending the year with more than $1.2 million in projected reserves - a milestone that ensures both stability and long-term sustainability. We also expanded our fund development efforts in meaningful ways, securing new and diverse resources that support every aspect of TRC’s programming. These advancements, made possible with the encouragement and generosity of our external supporters, have positioned us to meet community needs with greater impact, innovation, and confidence.
A major highlight of 2025 has been our success in cultivating existing partnerships while also forging new collaborations with organizations such as TASC, Elevated Chicago, and Northwestern Medicine. These relationships strengthen the continuum of services available to our residents and reinforce TRC’s role as a trusted leader in supportive housing and community development. Each partnership underscores an important truth: when community organizations unite around shared purpose, the collective impact is far greater than what any of us could achieve alone. Additionally, we raised over $1 million in grants to support the Abrams Intergenerational Village (AIV), further validating the power of our intergenerational model and enabling us to enhance services for individuals and families across generations.
Perhaps most inspiring are the successes we have witnessed among our residents. Many have improved their lives through increased employment, higher annual incomes, and strengthened life skills. More residents are actively taking advantage of the services we offer- demonstrated by increased participation in resource groups, greater attendance at community events, and more frequent utilization of our staff to connect with resources that support their growth and stability.
These achievements reflect not only the determination of our residents and team, but also the encouragement and opportunities made possible by our community partners and supporters. As funding and partnerships expanded, we grew our staff team and increased the resources available to residents, ensuring they receive the comprehensive support they deserve.
Lastly, we are very proud of our efforts to improve the spaces in which our residents live and commune. We are in the final phase of closing out our RAD2 conversion, where we allocated over $5 million in funds to renovate Renaissance Apartments, completed over $75,000 in capital project improvements at Senior Village 1 (SV1), and are preparing to invest over $100,000 in renovations in the former historic “Y.” These improvements ensure that our residents not only have safe and dignified housing, but also vibrant, welcoming spaces that foster connection, stability, and long-term growth. Every enhancement reflects a shared belief - from our team, our partners, and our supporters - that quality housing is the foundation upon which stronger communities are built.
With the guidance and support of our Board of Directors, TRC has been able to establish far more than we originally imagined. The enhanced culture we have cultivated - both within our buildings and throughout our workforce - positions us with tremendous confidence as we look toward 2026 and beyond. Together with our partners, supporters, and community allies, we have built a stronger, more resilient organization, and I am certain that the foundation we have laid will propel us toward even greater achievements in the years ahead.
With gratitude,
Oji Eggleston
Executive Director
